Incident timeline builder
Build a chronological incident timeline in UTC, then export it as Markdown, CSV, or JSON. Entries stay in your browser.
Entries are saved in this browser only. Use Clear timeline when you are done on a shared computer.
Synthetic example data, not a real incident
No entries yet
Add the first thing that happened, import a timeline you exported earlier, or load a synthetic example to see how it works.
Clear every entry? This cannot be undone. Export first if you want a copy.
How it works
Times are entered and stored in UTC, the usual convention for incident timelines, so entries from different systems line up. Entries sort by time; entries with the same time keep the order you added them.
Your timeline is saved in this browser's local storage so a refresh does not lose it. It is never sent anywhere. On a shared computer, use Clear timeline when you are done, and avoid pasting confidential client data.
CSV exports protect against spreadsheet formula injection: cells that start with =, +, -, or @ are prefixed with an apostrophe. Markdown exports escape angle brackets so the file renders as text. Imports accept only this tool's JSON format, up to 1 MB and 500 entries, and invalid entries are skipped and counted.
